The fashion industry is considered the second most polluting industry in the world and overproduction represents one of the greatest environmental threats. Since CLOS was founded, one of the goals has been to participate in the change of the production system to contribute to the resolution of this problem. What does the word sustainability really mean? Unlike other companies, we immediately asked ourselves what it meant to be a sustainable company. We believe that sustainability is not limited to the use of natural materials for the production of shoes, but there is much more. To become truly sustainable we must go back to the past, when shoes were made only on customer request to respond to a real need. With the explosion of the era of consumerism we are witnessing the birth of overproduction . A large quantity of shoes is produced that cannot be disposed of. Shoes produced no longer for a real but potential customer.
But can this be a sustainable production system?
Our pre-sale system allows us to avoid this process. We anticipate demand levels before production, so we only produce the amount of shoes that we will actually sell. Producing only what is requested allows us to significantly limit warehouse stock and related costs, to respect the company's production capacity and not to compromise the quality of the products. Every two months we open the pre-sale for sandals, and every month we offer a limited edition of jewelry accessories.
For each sandal and jewel, pre-order is available at -30% , but only for a limited time.
We collect orders for our artisans in advance, applying a discount on our products before they are produced and not when they remain unsold. Choose your favorites and only then will only the ones you love most be produced. The shoe is produced just for you. By pre-ordering CLOS sandals you avoid compulsive shopping and contribute to the elimination of overproduction .
